Robbie ready to ask Gary to perform duty
Robbie Williams is set to grab the headlines yet again by asking former Take That band mate Gary Barlow to be best man at his upcoming wedding.
The pair have previously feuded but appear to have patched things up over the last few years, with a rumoured Take That full reunion on the cards in what would be Robbie's first involvement in the band since his departure in 1995.
According to the Daily Star, Williams wants Barlow to share best man responsibilities with his best friend Jonathan Wilkes when he takes actress Ayda Field up the aisle. Online bingo fans will know that Barlow is a bit of a bingo obsessive, but this could prove to be a pairing of two little ducks they did not see coming!
Pair have a special bond
Many expected Mark Owen to be Williams' best man, but a source close to the Millennium singer told the newspaper that Williams is looking to make a gesture of thanks to Barlow. The informant said:
"Rob is very fond of Gary and considers him a solid rock in his life. Mark was always one of his fun time pals, but Rob really wants to thank Gary and show his respect for their special bond."
Meanwhile, the long-muted reunion between Williams and his former band mates is still on the schedule. However, Williams recently remarked that it is not likely in the next two years due to contractual obligations.
