Celebrities get on their bikes
A group of celebrity A-listers are undertaking an extraordinary charity bike ride from John o' Groats to Land's End, bingo players may be interested to know.
Big Brother presenter Davina McCall, Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton and comedians David Walliams, Russell Howard, Miranda Hart and Patrick Kielty have just started pedalling the entire length of the UK, reports the BBC.
They have formed a non-stop relay team in a bid to raise the remarkable total of £1 million for Sport Relief.
Climbing Mount Everest
It's expected to be an uphill struggle for the celebrities, particularly the first 24 hours when they will tackle an overall climb of 29,000 ft.
Fearne Cotton, part of the Sport Relief cycling relay team, has clearly cottoned onto the true scale of the challenge.
"When I was told that we would be climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest on the first day alone, I thought it was a joke," she said.
"But when you look at the route, it's true. There's almost 29,000 ft for us to pedal up on the Scottish leg of the trip. And a lot of that is in the dark!"
Mount Everest and the free bingo game
Regular visitors to the UK's favourite online bingo site will know this isn't the first time that Mount Everest has been scaled for charity.
Last year, we reported on a group of British bingo club workers who decided to take on the world's tallest mountain to raise money for Sue Ryder Care, which helps people with terminal and chronic health problems.
After reaching base camp, these intrepid adventurers even found time to play a record-breaking free bingo game.
