Bingo club worker hails £1m mistake
Online bingo players know all too well that lady luck works in mystery ways.
Sometimes you find yourselves on an incredible winning streak in the games room, while at other times it seems as if everyone else is just pipping you to the big cash prizes.
Well, one bingo club worker had an astonishing stroke of good fortune recently when a shop-keeping error left her £1 million richer, reports the Press Association.
Audrey White, a 58-year-old assistant bingo club manager in Suffolk, visited her local supermarket and asked for a £2 Lottery scratchcard.
But instead of the card she asked for, the cashier mistakenly pulled out another worth £5 and Mrs White decided to take her chances and up the stakes.
"I'd already won £5 on another scratchcard so I decided to have a go," she explained. "I rubbed it off when I got home later and I just couldn't believe it."
Dramatic turnaround for bingo club staffer
Just three years ago Mrs White was facing up to the possibility that her semi-detached home could be repossessed.
But having scooped the £1 million jackpot on her scratchcard, she now plans to clear her mortgage as well as add a new conservatory to her modest abode.
And it seems her money problems are now well and truly over.
"I've got my own private banker," she said. "This sort of thing doesn't happen to an assistant bingo manager."
Online bingo fans can enjoy plenty of opportunities to win big on the Bucky Bingo site.
In addition to the regular online bingo sessions, registered members can try their luck on one of the many side games.
Last month, a player called Christopher 7 scooped £17,500 on bingo bonus game Mayan Mania, which brings the mysterious Mayan civilisation to life.
