Canada turns to e-bingo
Canada is at the forefront of the bingo industry and nowhere is this more apparent than in the field of e-bingo.
For decades, Canadian bingo players have been playing on paper bingo cards, marking off their numbers with the assistance of a trusty dabber, reports the Windsor Star.
But earlier this month saw the long-awaited reopening of a groundbreaking new venue that ripped up the rulebook.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's (OLG's) Breakaway Gaming Centre in Windsor, Ontario has been completely overhauled based upon feedback from customers and members of staff.
At the gala opening ceremony, more than 400 people showed up to dance to musical guests Crystal Cage and Sounds of Motown.
E-bingo terminals unveiled
But the star attractions were undoubtedly the stylish new e-bingo terminals one for every player.
The whole system is automated so that numbers are marked off without players having to lift a finger, bringing an end to those embarrassing moments when people dab the wrong number or forget to dab at all.
Chris Roberts, a local bingo fan, has welcomed the introduction of the new system.
"People come to play bingo and they get so much more," he said. "E-bingo allows you to play bingo but do other things at the same time like sit back, relax and talk to your friends."
Meanwhile, Mona Crawford, director of special projects in bingo gaming at OLG, has revealed the terminals will not just serve up e-bingo.
"There will be a whole suite of electronic games coming," she said. "This is the first and we'll just keep adding onto them."
Buckingham Bingo invests heavily to ensure bingo players get the best possible gaming experience at all times.
Earlier this summer, for example, Buckingham Bingo Middleton reopened after a £1.2 million refit.
The stylish venue, one of four Manchester bingo clubs, gained a grand entrance hall, new furniture and a beautiful LCD staircase.
