Scientists discover Buckyballs in space
Bingo games players will no doubt be familiar with the Bucky balls we dish out every day, helping our members on their way to picking up some great prizes. Now it would seem that Bucky balls are not just a phenomenon exclusive to Earth!
That's because scientists have discovered a new variety of carbon molecules in space and decided to call them Buckyballs!
Buckyballs are a form of carbon and follow graphite and diamond as the third variety of its kind so far found in space. Astronomers picked up the phenomena using the Spitzer spectroscopy, which looks at the plantary nebula's infrared light.
