Newsreader named new Breakthrough ambassador
Bucky Bingo players may know her as the face as Granada Reports, but they may have more in common with Lucy Meacock than they think now the television personality has become the latest Breakthrough Breast Cancer ambassador.
Meacock has teamed up with the North West Breakthrough Breast Cancer campaign and hopes to help the charity reach its £5 million research fund goal. The newsreader has also revealed that the group is close to her heart after she lost both of her parents to the disease during her 20s.
She said: "Losing my parents when they were so young gave me a very early insight into how tough it is to care for those you love and the terrible moment when hope of survival is taken away. This is why Breakthroughs North West Appeal stood out to me and why I became involved."
Breakthrough with Bucky
Bucky's work with Breakthrough Breast Cancer has been well-documented, with the company setting up a Facebook page where £1 is donated to Breakthrough for every new member it receives.
So far, close to £1,500 has been raised by the group on the social media page, but there are still plenty more people to reach!
The Bucky Bingo community is a tight-knit and caring one. If you would like to join in with the fun and games, visit us today or join our fabulous Facebook page to help out Breakthrough's worthy cause.
