Play bingo and help the disadvantaged
Everybody knows there are strong links between playing bingo and supporting charity.
In the latest partnership between the two, Watford Disability Forum has put on a hugely successful bingo night at a prominent city-centre club, reports the Watford Observer.
The organisation, which aims to boost awareness of disability issues in the area, used the session to raise approximately £1,000 towards the cost of an accessibility audio kit for businesses and future socials.
About 70 people took part in the bingo games, including local dignitaries and a number of people who had never experienced them before.
They were competing for a host of fabulous prizes donated by high-profile local organisations such as Woburn Safari Park, Watford CVS and Top Golf.
Watford mayor turns bingo caller
Dorothy Thornhill, mayor of Watford, even got into the spirit of the occasion by acting as celebrity bingo caller at the start of the evening.
Kim Price, vice chairman of Watford Disability Forum, said the event went "really well".
She added: "The main thing was letting people know we are out there and hopefully we will get some more members. We want to thank everyone who came out on the night."
Buckingham Bingo has taken major steps recently to improve access across its family of bingo clubs.
Disabled facilities such as lifts, ramps, disability-friendly toilets and induction loops can now be found at all 11 of its venues.
It means that whether you're in Bootle or Bradford, Preston or Peterlee, you can rest assured you'll have a great bingo night at your local Buckingham Bingo club.
