Movie star and celebrity bingo fan Daryl Hannah is now looking to use her profile in an effort to help raise awareness of environmental issues all over the world. The Splash actress, who has appeared at charity-related Hollywood bingo events, opened up about her love of the outdoors in a recent interview. Hannah, who is currently backing The Green Wave campaign, told The Independent that she is "more of a rural person than a city lover".

Raise money for charity with Bucky Bingo. The recently launched Bucky Bingo Facebook group is going to donate £1 to its sponsored charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer for every person who becomes a fan of the site. Bucky Bingo aims to raise £20,000 for the cancer charity by the end of 2010; previous fundraising drives have included charity raffles and leg waxing. Bucky Bingo fans who can't get enough of the pastime will have a new way to play later this year when Nintendo releases its Wii Party game. Featured in the title is a special bingo mode which allows players to compete against friends and family using their own specially-customised Mii characters. Bringing bingo to a new audience is something which Bucky has been doing for years, and this sounds right up our street!

A prominent bingo commentator has claimed that the hung Parliament result of the General Election could benefit the industry. Jayne Wilson believes that the indecision will hold off plans to tax online bingo operators. She added that online bingo is viewed differently by politicians because they do not consider it as beneficial to society as land-based play. "It would be safe to assume that bingo is not particularly high on the political agenda," she said.

Bucky Bingo has planned a special bingo event to celebrate its third birthday. Monday May 10th 2010 will see the usual two-hour free online bingo session on the Bucky website extended to five hours. Furthermore, we'll be opening our free sessions to seven hours on Friday May 14th. 63-year-old Hilda Leach has become the latest big winner at Bucky. The Bury resident recently visited the Middleton Buckingham branch and left with an astonishing £50K. She said that she will be giving some of the money to her mother and using the rest to take her husband away for a luxury holiday. Meanwhile, 94 members who purchased the Bullseye link each scooped £50 on Friday May 2nd.
