Gary Barlow's free bingo party
Free bingo games are at the heart of British life - just ask Gary Barlow.
The Take That star and his wife Dawn have arranged a huge event to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge, London, reports the Mirror.
But they have decided to shun foreign fancies and go for a party with a decidedly British theme, complete with fish and chips from Harry Ramsden's, dancing and free bingo games.
An insider explained: "They didn't want daft French scoff. Who needs it when you can have fish, chips and a good dollop of peas?"
Guests at the party, which will cost £250,000, are expected to include fellow Take That members Mark, Howard, Jason and Robbie Williams.
Bingo-based party invites
And as well as offering free bingo games, Gary and Dawn have put bingo centre stage on the invitations.
"The invites are typical of them," the source added. "There's a bottle of champagne with bingo balls bursting out of the top. They might be worth a fortune but they know how to have a good time."
Dawn first caught Gary's eye when she worked as a backing dancer for Take That back in the 90s.
They got married in 2000 and now have three children - Daniel, Emily and Daisy.
Take That fans were recently given a treat at Buckingham Bingo Didsbury.
On Friday, October 9th 2009, the Manchester bingo club played host to Take That: Back 4 Good, a tribute to the chart-topping local pop group.
