New generation of players
Certain stereotypes have perhaps been attached to bingo players in the past. To the uninitiated, the game is arguably associated with old people, especially women, packing themselves into smoky bingo halls and trying desperately to win some petty cash. Today, thanks to great websites offering online bingo like Bucky's, such stereotypes have been challenged.
New research from bingo comparison website OnlineBingoClub.co.uk suggests that the increasing prevalence of the internet has led to a massive drop in the age of the average bingo player. According to their research, players are now typically 34 years younger than they were in 1990. Indeed, the age of the average player is now 26 rather than 62, the study shows.
OnlineBingoClub.co.uk founder Rob Hutchison accredits this phenomenon to bingo's online makeover, which he believes has rejuvenated the game. He said:
"Bingo used to have a dull image and its great that this is no longer the case."
Flexibility
Hutchison claimed that the make-up typical player is now much harder to pin down than in the past, adding that they are now "young, old, male, female, married and single". He pointed to the universal appeal of the game and said it has had a direct effect on this.
Online bingo has had a huge impact on the industry, and Hutchison believes it is firmly responsible for younger players deciding to play. Hutchison remarked:
"Online bingo gives youngsters the flexibility they crave, allowing them to play where and when they want."
With more people playing free bingo than ever before, that can only mean a greater number of excellent prizes and new strides to make the games more innovative and more exciting than ever before. Players should be sure to stay tuned to Bucky for the very latest and best online bingo news and promotions!
